Avoid Plagiarism
You must create your own work.  You are responsible for the content that you turn in for a grade.  If the ideas, words, or concepts belong to someone else, they are not yours.  To avoid plagiarism, you must put those thoughts into your own words.  DO NOT CUT AND PASTE information you find on the internet.

CUT AND PASTE PLAGIARISM
I found the following on the internet:

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering (1).”

  • If I want to use this exact quote in an assignment, I must give credit where credit is due.
  •         (1) The quote came form the Star Wars movies, but specifically from http://www.yodaquotes.net/.

  • It is not enough to change a word here or there. This is not my interpretation, it is the originator's thought:

"Fear can be a path to the dark side.  Fear becomes anger.  Anger leads to hatred Hatred leads to suffering."

  • Or I could modify this in my own words and thus use it on an assignment

"Yoda teaches us that one sure way to turn evil is to have fear.  If you are afraid, you may get angry.  If you are angry, you will learn to hate things and people.  Hateful people suffer tremendously."
